A wonderfully timeworn antique European lampshade, beautifully tattered and preserved in all of its faded grandeur.
The shade features layers of deep navy pleated fabric over an aged golden lining, finished with an extravagant long navy fringe and remnants of decorative trim. Years of wear have exposed portions of the shade’s original construction, creating the wonderfully imperfect, romantic character we love in old European textiles.
There is something almost theatrical about this piece—faded, fragile and incredibly beautiful. Style it from an antique wall sconce, small chandelier or lamp where its long fringe and wonderfully worn details can take center stage.
