Once an elegant garment, the delicate silk has naturally deteriorated over generations, leaving behind torn sleeves, exposed threads, gathered seams and wonderfully intricate handworked detailing across the bodice.
The extensive wear is very much part of its beauty now—fragile, romantic and beautifully undone. More textile art than wearable garment, it feels like a fragment of another life and another time.
