Antique J. & P. Coats Spool Cabinet

A beautiful antique J. & P. Coats general store spool cabinet dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. Originally made as a countertop display for storing and advertising Coats cotton thread, the two drawers retain their wonderful period lettering: “J. & P. Coats’ Best Six Cord” and “Spool Cotton for Hand & Machine.”
This example is in beautiful condition with a rich, naturally aged wood patina, white porcelain knobs and two functional drawers. Both decorative and useful, it is a highly collectible piece of early mercantile history.

Approximately 22” × 15” × 9”.
Styling Note
A statement piece all on its own. Use it on a worktable or cupboard to hold ribbons, sewing notions, photographs or other small collections, then layer the top with favorite seasonal finds. We especially love the warmth of the old wood paired with creamy textiles, dried botanicals and natural gourds.
