Artisan Handmade Antique French Book Page & Foraged Leaf Garland
A one-of-a-kind autumn garland handmade in our studio from salvaged pages of an antique French book and naturally dried leaves foraged in Northern Michigan and Denmark.
Seven timeworn French book pages are individually adorned with preserved autumn leaves, each chosen for its natural color, shape and beautiful imperfections. Shades of faded ochre, russet, wine and earthy brown give the garland the feeling of an old botanical collection gathered during autumn travels.
The pages are strung along a matte mocha silk ribbon, adding a soft, beautifully aged quality that complements the warm patina of the antique paper. Tiny wooden clothespins hold each page in place, allowing the pieces to hang casually rather than perfectly—a simple detail that gives the garland its charming, collected European cottage character.
Because the leaves are entirely natural and the pages antique, variations, markings, small tears and age are all part of the piece.
