Salvaged Antique European Girandole Frame

A truly special salvaged antique European girandole frame, originally created in the French Louis XVI style as a mirrored wall sconce. We have reimagined the timeworn frame as a decorative wall piece, filling it with dried flowers gathered from our own garden while preserving the candle sconces that speak to its original purpose.
Before electric lighting, girandole mirrors were designed with candleholders positioned alongside reflective glass, allowing the mirror to capture and multiply the glow of candlelight throughout a room.
The frame carries beautiful Louis XVI–inspired details, including an ornate ribbon-and-bow crest, delicate floral swags and decorative corner motifs. The original mirror glass is no longer present, leaving an open center that beautifully frames the wall and surroundings beyond it.
Two side sconces hold drippy white taper candles, included, while a generous gathering of naturally dried flowers from our garden spills across the bottom. Faded blush, cream and earthy autumn tones soften the old frame and give the entire piece the romantic, slightly undone character of something discovered in an old European country house.
Size & Details:
Approximately 30” x 18”
Salvaged antique European girandole frame
French Louis XVI–style detailing
Ribbon-and-bow crest with floral ornamentation

Styling Suggestions:
Hang as a statement piece above an antique console, mantel or old chest, allowing the wall itself to become part of the open frame. With its dried garden flowers and drippy tapers, it needs very little else—perhaps a stack of old books, ironstone or a few collected objects below. A wonderfully romantic piece for bringing the feeling of a timeworn European cottage into a room.
