Happy Autumn- from the garden house
There is something about autumn that always feels like a return.
A return to home. To gathering. To making things with our hands. To noticing what is growing just outside the door and finding ways to bring a little of it inside.
This fall, we are opening the doors to our Garden House for the first time.
The Garden House has quietly been taking shape over the past several months—an old garden shed given a new life and slowly filled with the things I love most: gathered flowers, old vessels, baskets, garden tools, natural curiosities and pieces with a history.
But more than anything, I wanted it to become a place to create.
A place where the garden and The Collected could meet.
This autumn, that begins with hydrangeas.
Throughout the season, we have been gathering hydrangeas from our garden as their colors naturally begin to deepen and fade. Pinky Winky blooms move through the prettiest shades of creamy green, dusty pink, deep rose and muted autumn tones—and no two are ever quite the same.
Inside the Garden House, those flowers are being gathered, dried and made by hand into our autumn hydrangea wreaths.
They aren’t meant to be perfect.
We want each one to feel as though it came directly from the garden—loose, organic and a little wild. The colors will continue to soften and change as the flowers naturally dry, becoming something that evolves with the season.
And this is only the beginning.
Our intention for the Garden House is to let it grow slowly and naturally. A place for seasonal making, gardening, gathering and experimenting. A place to share more of the process behind The Collected—the flowers we grow, the things we forage, the old pieces we find and the simple beauty of making something by hand.
Perhaps most importantly, it is a reminder to us to stay connected to the things that have always inspired The Collected in the first place:
Home. Garden. Old things. Nature. Creativity. And the beauty found in every season.
We don’t know exactly what the Garden House will become yet.
And I think that’s part of what makes it special.
For now, the doors are open, the hydrangeas are drying, and autumn has arrived.
Welcome to our Garden House. 🍂
